Browsing the best Portland gift shops is one of my favorite things to do when visiting the city. Since PDX has such a strong maker culture, I always find unique souvenirs and gifts to bring home. Plus I feel good about it because I know I supported the local economy.

If you’re on the hunt for fashionable and handcrafted products created by Portland-based designers, then you’ll adore MadeHere PDX. This Pearl District spot is committed to showcasing locally-made products in its expansive showroom and online store.
And believe me when I say the space is necessary. There are over 10,000 products from 150 vendors on display at any one time. You’ll find a host of unique apparel and jewelry lining the shelves, but you can also pick up items like caramels, chocolate, and trail mix if you’re on the hunt for the best Pacific Northwest food gifts. Overall, it’s one of the best Portland gift shops to visit if you want to take home a piece of PDX.
Urbanite

Urbanite is one of my absolutely favorite Portland gift shops. It’s a lifestyle store located in a huge warehouse filled with more than 54 small businesses, ~30 of which make handmade artisanal goods. Each business creates gorgeous vignettes in little cubicle-like spaces where you can find unique ceramics, fine art, jewelry, paper goods, candles, clothing, home goods, vintage apparel, and midcentury modern furniture. There’s even a full bookstore and monthly rotating fine art gallery, so there’s always something new.
Pro tip: If you keep an eye on their Facebook page, you’ll often find half-price stuff being offered for a bargain. They also host about three monthly markets, so keep an eye out for dates.
Woonwinkel

Woonwinkel is among the best Portland gift shops for anyone who loves colorful homewares and adorable office supplies. You’ll find tons of collapsible cups, eco-friendly lunch bags, totes, wall signs, and journals dotting the store. The owners carefully curated an affordable range of gifts inspired by Scandinavian designs but with a more colorful palette. Their taste level is so good, it’s difficult to leave without buying something!
Tender Loving Empire

What makes this place incredibly special is its commitment to stocking artisan goods from local vendors. So, whether you pick up a pair of earrings or a new shirt, you’ll be supporting Portland-based businesses!
Pro tip: This Portland gift shop also has a location right inside Portland’s International Airport, which makes it a great place to stop just before jetting off.

Betsy & Iva has always been one of the best Portland gift shops for high-quality handmade jewelry and custom clothing. Admittedly, this spot isn’t cheap. You can pick up a couple of affordable pieces for under $100, but you’ll be shelling out more for their Sapphire or Black Jasper pieces. This is largely because they use conflict-free stones and gold alloys they can trace back to the source.
Pro tip: Unlike other jewelry stores, this spot provides free repairs and ethical assurances for every single product sold.

This funky apparel store in Portland, Oregon is known for challenging gender norms. They create jackets, stylish coveralls, and essential work items in fun patterns. And if you fall in love with a pattern, they offer it on a bunch of different styles so you aren’t locked into one type of garment.

One of the best places to eat in PDX also has an impeccably curated Italian market connected to the restaurant. As someone who grew up on the east coast, I couldn’t stop gushing about all the important food products I was used to seeing growing up. You’ll also find a mix of their handmade items ready to take home, such as sauces, pasta, take-and-bake meals, and more.
Orox Leather Co.

Orox Leather Co. is a store that’s perfect for handcrafted leather goods. This Latin-owned company has been around since 2012. Besides having stylish items, it’s a cool spot to visit because the store’s workshop is right onsite. This lets you see each product being assembled in real time, which makes for all the more special gifts.
Milieu Gallery

I first stumbled on Milieu when they were in the Sellwood neighborhood on the edge of Portland. They’ve since relocated to a larger space on Bridgeport to have a bigger gallery space. The entire shop is charming with artwork, artisanal chocolates, and wine available for purchase. As it’s a collective, you can expect an interesting mix of goodies from Pacific Northwest businesses hiding behind every corner.
Pro tip: Check out their website for workshops, classes, and popup shops throughout the year.
CANOE

CANOE is one of the best Portland gift shops for the Millennial crowd that likes minimalist designs. Everything is carefully curated to become a centerpiece in your home without drawing focus. You can expect functional furniture with sleek lines, home accessories, and a range of pricey kitchen basics. You may not think you need a bougie lemon basket or a cast iron trivet, but CANOE will probably prove you wrong.
Pro tip: I spend most of my time in the homeware section, but parents will like the dedicated baby and kids section with upscale toys.
Pistil’s Nursery

As a plant parent, I can easily spend an hour exploring Pistil’s Nursery. When I first heard about this place, I assumed it was geared towards kids. Nope – it’s the best spot to visit for anyone with green thumbs. There are tons of potted plants available, but I’ve always found that their potting mixes and stoneware are great gift ideas for creative folks. Even if you don’t buy anything, this brick-and-mortar store is an awesome escape from Portland’s urban scene.
DANO

DANO is known for selling great gifts, but I usually struggle not to buy things for myself every time I visit. This place primarily sells plant-powered beauty products and vintage clothing. It’s not big, but there’s always an impressive selection of personally curated items from owner Melissa.
Crafty Wonderland

I try to come to Crafty Wonderland whenever I’m in Portland. This store is the brainchild of Cathy and Torie who are two local artists. They wanted to create somewhere for Portland’s creatives to sell their wares while making a living. And they succeeded – in a huge way.
If you’re visiting Portland at the right time of year, you can visit their amazing craft market that takes place inside the Oregon Convention Center. There are usually two different events throughout the year, but the best one is during the holiday season. It features products from over 200 local artisans selling accessories, books, artwork, and body care items from a wide range of vendors.
CARGO

Cargo is a wonderful gift shop in Portland that’s perfect for getting lost. You’ll find a bunch of different nooks with goods from different vendors. There’s a strong boho aesthetic, but you can find treasures to match all styles. Downstairs is where you’ll find the vintage goods, so save time to explore if you love buying second hand.
Paxton Gate

Paxton Gate is one of the most fascinatingly witchy gift shops in Portland. It sells products inspired by science and long-lost treasures, including taxidermy critters, skulls, and fossils. I haven’t bought anything from here yet, but I’ve been seriously tempted by the morbidly whimsical lighting.
City Home

City Home is a small Oregon chain that curates some of the most stylish home decor in the city. Their store is large, with vignettes of both new and vintage items thoughtfully arranged to inspire your own space. While there are pricey items here, you can also find deals. For example, the last time I went I got a cute ceramic berry holder for just $7.
Pro tip: They have an outlet across the street that has furniture and decor at steep discounts.
Hammer and Jacks

I’ve walked past Hammer and Jacks several times, but I never took the time to properly look around. Once I stepped inside, I quickly realized why it was such a popular spot for parents and kids. If I’m being honest, I was jealous that I wasn’t a kid, as this place is always packed to the rafters with things like books, friendship bracelet kits, and finger puppets. You name anything on a kid’s Christmas list, and they’ve probably got it in stock.
Pro tip: Be aware that the store doubles as a play space designed for events and parties. So you might struggle to drag little ones out of here.
