My purse tends to get insanely full of little doodads and trinkets. Sometimes it’s nice being known as the go-to person for that oddball item. But really, it just causes a lot of neck pain and mayhem.
Thus, I’ve slimmed down my purse contents to just the essentials. This is everything I carry, save for my SLR camera and a few items that made for an ugly photo. They are listed below. Hopefully this will help you weed out the unnecessary additions in your purse.
1. Purell – Gotta keep it clean.
2. Dentyne Gum – I like how it comes in a sturdy package.
3. Daily Planner – I am OBSESSED with this planner by Paper Blanks. Slim, gorgous, & has pages for notes.
4. Sunglasses – You never know when you’ll get the random sunny day in Seattle.
5. Vaseline – My lip balm of choice. Great for cracked skin, too.
6. Lip Gloss – I got this Sephora lip gloss as a sample & became hooked. Creates just-ate-cherries lip color.
7. Business Cards – You never know when you’ll need to give an elevator pitch.
8. Ear Buds – Perfect for bus rides and work outs.
9. Tide to Go – If you have one item besides your ID/money, it best be this clothing lifesaver.
10. Zippered Wallet – I just bought this from the Gap and love that I can fit all my cards and checkbook.
11. Dice – Hey, you never know when you’ll need them. Excellent for impromptu party games.
12. iPhone Case – Bought this little guy at the Union Square Christmas Market in NYC.
13. iPhone + Case – I just picked up this fabulous case from J.Crew. Paisley FTW!
14. Wine Wipes – My teeth get stained after one glass of wine. These are essential.
* Essential items not pictured (though equally as important): SLR camera, business card case, sunglasses case, Dentyne gum packet, mini mirror, mini collapsible umbrella (usually leave out in summer), pen, and eye drops.
